If you hate hearing Christmas music pumped through the drugstore as you pick up your Halloween candy, you are going to hate this post.
Because I’m celebrating New Years.
Yes, I know I’m early. There’s a reason for that. I’ve found that in order to make goals stick, I have to make them public. Therefore, feel free to hold me accountable should I fall behind! Also, by planning (and posting) ahead, I have time to modify my goals before the big, sparkly ball in Times Square drops.
Plans:
- In January, I’m attending Alt Summit in Salt Lake City. This is my first time attending and, though I have issues seeing myself as “important enough” to attend this conference, my goal is to be a sponge and soak up all the information and awesomeness.
- While this plan isn’t firm (as I do not have a date set), I have every intention of taking a PhotoShop class (or two) in 2012.
Goals:
- Currently, I’m posting “daily” (baring weekends and holidays). I’d like to maintain that momentum in 2012.
- In 2011, I wrote a guest post on She Writes & Rights. In 2012, my goal is to guest post on five different blogs. I’m not entirely sure how one discovers such opportunities, but I’m game.
- I’ve enjoyed hosting people discussing their weddings this year as I prepare for my own nuptials. Next year, I’d like to host at least five guest posters. I’d like at least one of these guests to talk about body image for the Fat Tuesday series.
- I’d like to do at least one collaborative project with another blogger. This one’s vague – collaboration can take many forms – but I’m open. Perhaps a series on Chicago? An Etsy love-fest? DIY project? Not sure.
So, feedback! Think I could do more? Think I’m being crazy?
