Yep, still washing my face with oil. I love it.
My skin really feels great. Here’s a picture of my make-up-free mug (as I try to take a picture in the bathroom while both catching the light and not looking too MySpace):
I’ve added Chamomile Oil to the regimen. Internet reading leads me to believe that it’s great for calming the skin (read: reducing redness). Plus, it smells kind of nice – like tea, unsurprisingly, as that is where I’m most used to smelling chamomile. I’ve added a few drops to my standard olive oil/castor oil blend I use on my face.
I’ve started using tea tree oil on my scalp to combat itchiness in general, and a note of warning there: tea tree oil is SMELLY. The first time I doused my scalp and went to bed, Will had a hard time pretending like I wasn’t completely offensive-smelling. Plus, we had a little episode where I convinced myself I poisoned the cat with my head-oil and I ended up mad Googling at 1AM to learn that tea tree oil will either totally kill your cat dead or make him a little too happy to see you. Either way, the cat survived the night and I diluted my doses to just adding a few drops to my shampoo.
For further reading, my Mama sent me this link listing all manner of fun and fragrant oils. Thanks, Mama!
