While I consider myself an adventuresome eater, Will had definitely broadened my horizons. I generally refrain from saying I don’t like a certain food until after I’ve tried it – as that’s only fair – Will has convinced me to retry some foods I’d previously written off, such as:
Mangoes. Apparently I told Will on our first date that I hated mangoes – totally normal first-date talk, right? – but now I eat dried mangoes like they are nature’s candy. Look out, raisins!
Cream Cheese. I still don’t like it on bagels (heck, I don’t really like bagels) but I’m starting to like it more as an ingredient in other dishes. Same goes for Mayo and Sour Cream. I don’t want any of these items plain, but they work well in other things (except sushi – I will never accept cream cheese in sushi). Usually, Will just refrains from telling me that one of these items is in a sauce he prepares so I don’t get all pre-judgey.
Crab Rangoon. It wouldn’t be my first choice of appetizer, but the thought no longer makes me ill.
Ground Beef. I don’t even remember why I used to hate this, but now I look forward to beef taco night.
