Baby Swyter (and me, by extension) is a very lucky baby. She has two showers scheduled to welcome her into the world. The first was this past weekend. My mother and sister hosted a shower in the city for friends and family (my aunt even flew in from Maryland!).
The party was held here in the party room of my condo building and they did such a great job transforming the space. The decor was Autumn-themed with pumpkins decorated in the colors I’ve decided to use in our nursery (grey and lavender).
On the far right of the snack table you can see the apple pops my mother and sister made. They were apple pieces (scooped from the apple with a melon-baller so they were rounded) that we dipped in caramel and various toppings like sprinkles, nuts, and peanut butter chips. It was such a good idea. For those who didn’t want apples, there were pretzel sticks to dip.
We started out decorated bibs with fabric markers and puffy paint. You can also see coasters on the table – each had a baby-related fact on it.
People were very clever with their designs (my cat, Odie, even made a cameo on one bib).
Next was the opening of so many generous gifts. Below is a newborn-sized “Baby’s First Christmas” onesie (complete with hat!). So tiny!
Everyone left with bags of popcorn.
The shower was wonderful and my mother and sister outdid themselves. I saved some of the decorations to use in the nursery once we get that set up.
As I said, Baby Swyter and I are lucky ladies.
