I listen to podcasts all day while I’m working. iTunes syncs to my phone, so I listen while I’m running errands as well. Will and I listen to podcasts as we drift off to sleep each night.
I listen to a lot of podcasts.
As an avid listener, I want to share some of my favorites with you. This week, podcasts for finance and money:
Planet Money – This podcast will pique your interest in the economy. Yes, really. They take larger economic issues and create stories that you want to share with friends (as in, “oh hey, did you hear about the mall in northern California that straddles two townships and thus has two minimum wages!?”).
Freakonomics – I loved the books, so I knew I’d enjoy the podcast. Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner examine economic issues and how they impact each of us.
Suze Orman – Suze is able to be completely honest with people without seeming intimidating. Each week, she discusses a current topic in the finance world, reviews a family’s finances in depth, and answers callers about whether or not they can afford the items they want to buy (from shoes to a horse farm). It’s straght-forward and easy to understand. After listening, I’m sure you’ll go put more money aside for retirement.
UPDATE: The Suze Orman show ended in March 2015. I saved that last podcast forever because I didn’t want to say goodbye.
