It rained like crazy on the day we chose to head to Montmartre. When we first arrived, we waited out a downpour in a Starbucks (the shame!).Once the rain cleared a little, we headed up the hill. I’d forgotten how steep it was! We grabbed lunch near the Place du Tetre and made it over to Sacre Coeur just in time for the skies to open up again. Along with about fifty other tourists, Will and I waited out the day’s second downpour under the covered entrance of the basilica.
But then the sun came out and oh, the view of the city from the Montmartre was more than worth it.
We wandered through the 9th arrondissement for a while before heading back to our apartment to get ready for dinner.
That night we had dinner at Les Fabricants, walked by my old school, and had drinks at a bar nearby. I was excited to show Will my school even though I could really only show him the outside as the courtyard is fenced off – we used to have to show our IDs every day to get in. Regardless, I’m a huge fan of showing off the places that were special to me.
