The first photo of the month was actually taken by my video baby monitor. It’s ghosty and kind of creepy looking, but I love it so much. That’s me comforting my baby in the middle of the night. That’s motherhood right there.
But oh man, was February better than January! While January was full of assorted sicknesses, February featured a comparative bonanza of health. We had a few days off school for fever, but things took a definite turn for the better.
Ada continues to love school. February was her last month in the Infant II room (she moved up to Toddler I at the start of March).
We went to the doctor in early February because Ada needed to have her head circumference checked. Poor kiddo inherited my large head (good luck with hats, baby girl) so they want to keep an eye on it. She’s totally fine, but being in the 99th percentile for head circumference gets you special pediatrician visits. It was unseasonably warm after that appointment, so we went to the park.
Ada’s all-time favorite book is Blue Hat, Green Hat so I laughed when we got this photo from school – Ada has found their copy and is reading it to herself!
In addition to walking like a champ, Ada has learned how to climb up onto the couch. This used to be Odie’s last refuge, so he’s underwhelmed.
Our evening routine involves dinner at the counter – sometimes in her fun elephant dish! – then playtime. Those early evenings are full. Ada and Odie both want dinner at the same time and are both quite vocal in their demands. I definitely feel like I’m juggling until Will comes home and we can tag-team it.
Before bed we gather up Bun (the stuffed bunny), have milk, read stories, brush teeth, and go to bed. Ada thinks getting her teeth brushed is hilarious. That’s in large part thanks to her Pink Berry My Little Pony toothpaste. She pulls out her pacifier and smiles as we carry her into the bathroom.
February brought two trips to the suburbs to visit grandparents – one time for her grandfather’s birthday and another to visit a friend on Presidents’ Day.
The middle of the month was shockingly warm so we made the most of it and got outside.
Ada has gotten slightly better at riding in shopping carts. She makes trips to Target a little more frantic than they used to be, but her smile makes up for it.
We spent the last Sunday of the month at Present Place and Ada LOVED it. We were there for almost three hours as she played on a rocking boat and just watched all the other kids play (my kid is quite the observer). Present Place is pretty close to us, so it’s nice to know we have that option for rainy or snowy days!
