Well, Miss Adelaide, it’s been a month.
You are slowly outgrowing newborn clothing (but not newborn diapers, my skinny-bottomed child), so I had to capture you in my favorite tiny onesie before it’s consigned to the Goodwill bag.
You Like:
- Being swaddled
- Mealtime
- Riding around the room snuggled against your dad’s shoulder
You Dislike:
- Pacifiers
- The hours of 5PM to 10PM randomly and indiscriminately
- Getting dressed
I want to remember:
- How fluffy your hair is after a bath
- How you frequently throw your hands up over your head like you are cheering yourself on
- Your new-found smile (the books say you aren’t “really” smiling yet, but we all know you are advanced)
- The surprisingly loud noise you make while sucking on your hands
- Your epic side-eye – you frequently look up at me as though you know as well as I do that I’m a rookie at this Mom thing
- How you wiggle your swaddled legs around like you are dancing in your crib
Grandma says
She is amazing!
She is beautiful.
She is smart.
You two are a wonderful set of rookie parents.
And,yes,Adelaide does smile. 🙂
